Is there any place in Jammu where snowfalls?

Though there are many places in the Jammu region where snowfall occurs. However, in this, I am intentionally mentioning Patnitop because of it's popularity among the tourist as well as among the locals of the Jammu and Kashmir.

Patnitop experience heavy snowfall in the winter. Although Patnitop can be visited at any time of the year. Summers are suitable for the adventurers and the winter is suited for those who want to experience snowfall.

Patnitop was originally called Patan Da Talab (pond of the princess).

Patnitop is the escape for most of the people in JAMMU. Patnitop is a popular tourist place in the district Udhampur at 110 km away from the JAMMU city.

How to Visit?

On your way to Pantitop from Jammu, you have to take the Jammu Srinagar National Highway. India's longest tunnel Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee Tunnel with the length of 9.28 km comes in the way though there are two ways to enter Patnitop, the shortest one is through the tunnel.

The river CHINAB flows through the mountains of Patnitop.

Mostly pilgrims after Katra visits Patnitop instead of going all the way to Kashmir snow can be enjoyed in the lovely meadows of Patnitop situated at the lower Himalayan range.

Patnitop: Perfect Destination

Patnitop is known for its scenic beauty, lush green mountain valleys mystic clouds and the river Chenab. The town of Kudh and Batote are nearby. Kudh is very famous for its sweets whereas the town of Batote is known for its Rajma (kidney beans) which are very famous in Jammu.

Nathatop & Sanasar

The Nathatop and Sanasar are nearby Patnitop.

Nathatop is a very famous tourist attraction at Sanasar road providing the breathtaking views of the Shivaliks and the Pir Panjal range

The region is also famous for various adventurous activities skiing and trekking.

Sanasar is located at 20 km from the Patnitop deriving its name from the two nearby villages Sana and Sar. 

Sanasar is one of the unexplored places in the Jammu region.
