1. Baba Aghar Jitto

Baba Aghar Jitto, a shrine dedicated to an honest local farmer Baba Jitto. 

Jammu and Kashmir has a vibrant culture, folklore, and legends; Baba Jitto is one of them. 

Baba Jitto was born in the Ghaar village of the Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir nearly 500 years ago. 

Legend has it that due to the greediness of the village Panchayat a piece of barren land was allotted to Baba Jitto. 

However, with his hard work, Baba Jitto and his daughter Bua Gauri turned the barren land into fertile. 

But the greedy Sarpanch Mehta Bir Singh seizes the land and crops once again leaving Baba Jitto a landless peasant. 

Baba Jitto on not getting the right share pushed a dagger into his chest and sacrificed himself. The crops turned red due to the blood of Baba Jitto. 

Baba Jitto remained a peasant hero who highlights the oppression of the farmers at that time. 


2. Nau Deviya

After visiting Shri Mata Vaishno Devi it is very important to visit Nau Deviya which is a popular pilgrimage as well as a recreational destination among the locals. 

Nau Deviya means- 'Nine Goddesses' 

At Nau Deviya, Shri Maa Bhawani is in the form of nine pindis inside a cave. Shri Mata Vaishno Devi along with the sisters resides inside the holy cave of Nau Deviya. 

Apart from the religious pilgrimage, Nau Deviya also has a natural Spring and separate pools for men, women, and children.

Nau Deviya is one the best places to visit near Katra offers a majestic view of the Trikuta mountain range.


3. Sulla Park Katra

Sulla Park Katra is our next destination at the riverside of Chenab-river tributary. It is one of the unexplored places near Jammu.

As the name suggests Sulla Park is a beautiful park built on the design of the famous Mughal Gardens

Sulla park also has a small yet beautiful temple and natural ponds where you can see a lot of fishes inside.


4. Bhimgarh fort

Bhimgarh Fort is a beautiful fort built by the founders of Reasi. It is a fort situated on the hilltop providing a breathtaking view of the background mountain ranges and Katra town. 

It was later renovated by the first Dogra ruler of Jammu and Kashmir Maharaja Gulab Singh. It was used as a treasury and armory. 


5. Siyad Baba

Siyad Baba is the last and the most beautiful destination of our journey. 

The Siyad Baba waterfall is the largest waterfall in North India at an elevation of 466 meters. The Siyad Baba is situated on the mighty river Chenab. 

The waterfall is surrounded by the majestic mountains and the mighty Chenab river. It is one of the most popular places to visit near Katra Shri Mata Vaishno Devi. 

Siyad Baba is also famous among the locals and you would see many locals from Katra and Jammu spending good times over there.
