To book Online Yatra Parchi for Vaishno Devi, there are two ways to do so. One is the online method while other is the conventional offline method at Katra. 

I am going to tell you the details of the two methods and I will tell you which method is best for you in the end.

Why it is important to book Yatra Parchi?

For all the pilgrims it is important to do Mata Vaishno Devi online registration. The registration is done by the Yatra Parchi or Slip. 

Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board keeps the record of the pilgrims who visit the temple in order to maintain the proper flow of pilgrims from Katra Base to Bhawan. 

Moreover, the Yatra Parchi is also checked at various counters in route to Vaishno Devi. So, it is highly recommended to take your Yatra Parchi with you. 

Vaishno Devi Online Yatra Parchi Registration

As I mentioned earlier there are two methods to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Yatra Parchi registration.

Method 1: Online Booking 

Follow the below-mentioned steps in order to book your Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Yatra Parchi Registration Online.

STEP 1:

Register Yourself as New Devotee in the Devotee Registration form at the official website of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board.

STEP 2: 

Check your Mail; your username and password have been sent to the E-mail address you have given at the time of registration.

STEP 3: 

Log in with your username and password. If you are unable to login, close the browser tab and then try again!

STEP 4:

Click on Yatra Parchi at Top Left corner of the page as shown in the image. 

STEP 5:

Select Number of Devotees and Yatra Date. Now check availability. You can book tickets up to the next 3 months. 

STEP 6:

Now the availability of the Vaishno Devi Yatra Parchi is shown as per your required date. Now click on Book Now. If there are no tickets for the selected date, you can change the dates in order to check the availability. 

 

STEP 7: 

Now enter the required details of the pilgrim- Pilgrim Name, Father's Name, Gender, Age, ID Proof, ID Proof Number. Click Proceed to Book Vaishno Devi Yatra Parchi. 

STEP 8: 

Now enter the Captcha and then Click Generate Yatra Parchi, then take a print out of the Yatra Parchi and you are DONE!

Method 2: Offline Method

You can also book your Yatra Parchi/Ticket offline from the Shrine Board Counter at the base Katra main Chowk. The offline Yatra ticket required the presence of the pilgrim himself/herself at the counter. 

However, due to the current pandemic situation- Covid-19 the Shrine Board has closed the offline Yatra ticket Counters. You can book your tickets now only by online method.

Important Instructions

• Do not visit Vaishno Devi without the Yatra Slip/Parchi as it will be checked at various Check Posts, at Banganga and at the Bhawan. 
• Carry valid ID proofs used at the time of registration of Yatra Slip. 
• Do not book Yatra Slips other than from the official website of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board. 
• Vaishno Devi Yatra Slip/Parchi is completely free of cost. If anyone charges you money for the Yatra Slips, complain at the nearest Check Post. 
• Yatra Slips once booked cannot be altered. It cannot be edited or changed in any way.

There are many crucial benefits of Online Yatra Parchi Booking for Vaishno Devi. 

• First of all, no requirement of waiting in a long queue for the Yatra Parchi/Slip. 
• Online Vaishno Devi Yatra Parchi Registration can be done without any physical contact which is a good thing. 
• Vaishno Devi Online Yatra Registration Slip helps the Shrine board to track and maintain the flow of sacred Yatra.
• You do not have to worry about the counter booking of Yatra Parchi at Katra which closes at 9 pm.
• Online Yatra Parchi is free of cost, however, the offline yatra registration slip is also free.
• Yatra Parchi is also required for the Helicopter Booking for Vaishno Devi.

Online Yatra Parchi Valdity 

Online Yatra Parchi is valid up to the day you have booked it for. 

For example, if you have booked your Online Yatra Parchi for 20th Oct then it is legitly valid up to 21st October from the Katra Base to Ban Ganga Check Point.

However, I am positive that if you went on with your journey on 22nd October they might allow you to travel. But then you are completely on their mercy.

In such a case, if your online Yatra Parchi is expired or not valid then you can always register yourself at the offline Yatra Parchi Counter near the Karta Main Chowk considering the fact that offline service is available. 

Offline Yatra Parchi is not available nowadays since the Coronavirus. Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board has decided to register pilgrims only by online method with the daily cap of 15000 pilgrims.

Which Method is Best for You?

If you have carefully planned your journey and also you do not want to waste your time & wait in the long hectic queue then you should go for the Online Yatra Slip. 

However, if you have not planned your Yatra or the tickets are not available you can easily go for the offline method, then you have to book your tickets from Katra Shrine Board Counter.
